ABOUT THE COLLECTION

What is Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer?

Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer is a brand new partwork that teaches you how to play the world’s most popular tabletop roleplaying game, with exclusive adventures, easy step-by-step instructions and all the background information you need to start creating your own characters and becoming a D&D expert. Collect the specially designed dice, miniatures, maps and more given throughout the collection and join us on a wild ride through the D&D journey of a lifetime!

How do the adventures work?

There are currently 7 brand-new adventures planned as part of the Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer collection, created by some of the finest D&D writers and artists – an incredible amount of talent providing you with truly unique adventures!

Each adventure is made up of 11 or 12 encounters, with 1 encounter in every issue. Some issues will also include additional encounter points, allowing you to extend your gaming time.

By the end of each adventure, you’ll have a full guide on the locations played, all of the encounters to build one overarching adventure, and detailed info on the main story behind the adventure (i.e. why your characters are doing what they’re doing!)

What characters can I play as?

There are currently 12 exclusive characters planned for the full collection, covering all the core classes.

If you’re keen to try out all the different classes, you can choose to switch to a new character as they are introduced. Alternatively, if you’d like to stick with your original character(s) across all adventures, you’ll receive full guidance on how each of these characters will level up (up to level 5). Characters first level up to level 2 in issue 6.

Who is Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer for?

The collection is suitable for everyone!

Those new to the hobby will benefit from a clear instructions in the step-by-step guide on how to play D&D (how to run an encounter, how the game works, what each character class can do, what all the different dice are for). You’ll receive everything you need to get playing, plus some handy visual aids such as 2D miniatures and adventure maps.

If you’re already a frequent D&D player, you’ll absolutely love the brand-new and exclusive adventures and characters created by top-class D&D talent. The collection also includes a number of awesome dice to grow your collection, such as the glow in the dark dice given with issue 7 and the axe dice given with issue 17!

Whether you want to tackle the role of Dungeon Master, or you want to work through the encounters as an adventurer, you’ll find all the advice you need in this collection.

When will the collection be available?

  • Issue 1 will be available to buy in UK stores on 13th September.
  • Issue 2 will be available on 27th September.
  • Issue 3 will be available on 4th October.
  • Issue 4 will be available on 11th October.

How many issues are there in the collection?

There are currently 80 issues planned.

How often is the collection published?

Issue 2 is published 2 weeks after issue 1. The collection is then published weekly.

How much does each issue cost?

  • Issue 1 comes at the special price of £1.99 (€2.99). Premium subscribers pay £3.24 (€5.49).
  • Issue 2 comes at the special price of £4.99 (€6.99). Premium subscribers pay £6.24 (€9.49).
  • Issue 3 onwards is priced at £8.99 (€13.99). Premium subscribers pay £10.24 (€16.49).

Please note that a premium subscription is not available to those starting their subscription from issue 6 onwards.

How can I get copies if I live outside the UK or ROI?

We are sorry, but at the moment we cannot send copies outside the UK or ROI.

Are issues available digitally?

We’re sorry, but issues will not be available digitally.

SUBSCRIBING TO THE COLLECTION

How do I subscribe?

You can subscribe to Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer in one of three ways: online; by telephone on 0344 892 7203 (ROI call (01) 9079762); or by post by filling in a subscription form which can be found in issues 1-3 of the collection.

What payment methods are available?

Direct Debit, Visa, Mastercard, PayPal or via invoice. Please note, we do not accept Monzo cards.

Have you received my subscription request? I have not had confirmation.

If you have subscribed online, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of placing your order. You should then receive your welcome email within 72 hours, containing your subscription number. If you do not receive this email, please contact our Customer Service Team since there may have been a problem receiving your order, or an error with the email address used on your order form. If you subscribe via post or phone, you will receive a confirmation welcome letter within seven days of us receiving your request to subscribe. This contains your order reference number and details of your subscription. If you haven’t received a welcome letter after 10 days, then please contact our Customer Service Team. If you email the team, please be sure to include your full name and the collection you wish to subscribe to in the subject line.

What are the subscription gifts and when will I receive them?

Please note you will only receive these gifts if you subscribe from issue 1, 2, 3 or 4 by 31st December 2023. You are not entitled to receive the free subscription gifts if you subscribe from issue 5 onwards, or after 31st December 2023.

  • 1st delivery – you will receive your FREE dice tray plus one of your issues will also be FREE.
  • 3rd delivery – you will receive your FREE Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer binder and dividers.
  • 5th delivery – you will receive your FREE Dungeon Master screen.
  • 7th delivery – you will receive your FREE dice jail.

Can I get the free subscription gifts without subscribing?

No, sorry, but if you’d like to subscribe you can do so here. Please note that gifts are part of a special offer only available to people who start their subscription with issues 1, 2, 3 or 4 before 31st December 2023.

I have not received all my issues or gifts. How can you help?

We are sorry to hear that. If you have recently subscribed, please allow up to 28 days for the delivery of your first parcel. Our Customer Service Team can resolve this for you, please just get in touch using one of the methods on the contact page. If you email the team, please include your name and subscription number in the subject line.

Are there any binders or extras with the subscription?

If you subscribe from issues 1, 2, 3 or 4, you will receive your FREE binder with dividers in your 3rd delivery. If you subscribe from issue 5, 6 or 7, you will receive your first binder with dividers with issue 10 at the price of £10.99 (€13.99).

Subsequent binders (without dividers) will be sent to all subscribers with issues 20, 40 and 60 at the price of £10.99 (€13.99).

As a subscriber, you will also automatically receive special issues as they become available (items and prices vary).

You will be automatically opted in to receive binders and special issues throughout your collection, though you may opt out of receiving these by contacting our Customer Service Team. Please note, you must opt out of specials individually once they are announced.

What are your delivery methods?

All our despatches are sent by Royal Mail. Some parcels that we send out which include gifts, magazine binders, or storage boxes may be too large to fit through letter boxes. If Royal Mail have attempted to deliver a large parcel and there is nowhere suitable to leave it, they may have returned it to your local sorting office. Please check to see if they have left a ‘we tried to deliver’ card which should have your sorting office contact details on it.

What should I do if I receive an invoice for an issue I have already paid for or returned?

If you have paid for your issues or returned them within the last 7 days, please ignore the new invoice. If you have any other problems, please contact our Customer Service Team. Paying promptly will guarantee that you receive your issues at the right time and that we don’t send you reminders.

PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION

What is the premium subscription and when will I receive my premium gifts?

Please note that the premium subscription is not available to those starting their subscription from issue 6 onwards.

The premium subscription is an exclusive offer giving you the opportunity to receive 5 exclusively designed coins featuring character artwork throughout your collection PLUS a high-quality display frame for just £1.25 (€2.50) extra per issue.

  • With issue 11, you will receive your first premium coin.
  • With issue 26, you will receive your second premium coin.
  • With issue 41, you will receive your third premium coin.
  • With issue 56, you will receive your fourth premium coin PLUS your high-quality display case.
  • With issue 71, you will receive your fifth premium coin.

How does the premium subscription work?

Please note that premium subscription is not available to those starting their subscription from issue 6 onwards.

The premium subscription is an exclusive offer giving you the opportunity to receive additional gifts throughout the collection by paying only £1.25 (€2.50) extra per issue. That means as a premium subscriber you get all of the benefits of a regular subscription (including the subscription gifts), plus you’ll receive five premium coins and a high-quality display case throughout your collection.

How can I get a premium subscription?

You can begin a premium subscription by subscribing here and selecting the premium subscription option – please note that you must subscribe from issue 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 to be eligible for a premium subscription. If you have already begun your subscription but wish to upgrade to a premium subscription, you can do so before you reach issue 5. In order to upgrade, please contact our Customer Service Team.

When will I receive my premium subscription gifts?

Your first premium subscription gift will arrive with issue 11 and subsequent coins with issues 26, 41, 56 and 71. There are five coins in total. You will also receive your high-quality display frame with issue 56.

When I start my premium subscription, what issue will I start paying the additional £1.50 (€2.50) from?

You will start paying the extra £1.25 (€2.50) from your starting issue. The free issue you’re entitled to as a subscriber will of course remain free. If you start your subscription at a later issue you just have to pay an additional £1.25 (€2.50) per issue for the issues you have missed.

Please note that you can only upgrade your premium subscription until issue 5.

I want to cancel the premium side of my subscription and continue to receive the issues at the regular price. Can I get a refund for the premium payments that I have already paid?

Please contact our Customer Service Team if you want to cancel the premium side of your subscription.

If you have not yet received your first kit, you will be entitled to a refund.

If you have received your first kit and then decide to cancel before you receive the second premium kit, you will only receive a refund on the issues you have paid the extra £1.25 (€2.50) on since the first premium kit.

If you have received your second premium kit and then decide to cancel before you receive your third premium kit, you will only receive a refund on the issues you have paid the extra £1.25 (€2.50) on since the second premium kit. The same principle applies for all premium sets.

If I cancel my subscription am I able to pay the remaining premium payment to receive the additional items?

No, premium items are only available if your subscription is still running.

REPLACEMENTS, RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time giving 28 days’ notice. Please contact our Customer Service Team via telephone, post or email. If you contact the team by writing, please include your name and subscription reference.

How do I return an issue?

If you subscribe and decide for whatever reason not to keep a received issue, you must send it back unopened within 14 days following the receipt of your despatch to the following address:

Please include your subscription number with your parcel. A parcel kept more than 14 days means acceptance and the invoice should be paid promptly.

I have not received all my issues or gifts. How can you help?

We are sorry to hear that. If you have recently subscribed, please allow up to 28 days for the delivery of your first parcel. Our Customer Service Team can resolve this for you, please just get in touch using one of the methods on the contact page. If you email the team, please include your name and subscription number in the subject line.

Why have I received the wrong issue(s)?

We will replace all your issues with the correct copies. In order for us to arrange for a replacement, please contact our Customer Service Team via phone or email. If you email the team, please include your name and subscription reference in the subject line.

I cannot find copies in the shops – what do I do?

You can ask your newsagent to place a regular order for you so you can pick up your issues from them. If you need back copies you can ask your newsagent to order them for you or just contact our Customer Service Team. Don’t forget, if you become a subscriber, issues will be delivered to your door free of charge and you will receive some free superb subscription gifts!

What should I do if I receive a damaged issue?

We replace any damaged issue free of charge. Just send us back your damaged issue and contact our Customer Service Team. It might be also a good idea to mention the problem to Royal Mail.

Why can't I get through on the telephone number given?
